After decades as a psychiatrist and neuroscientist, Jeffrey Satinover returned to study physics obtaining his PhD in 2008. His book, The Quantum Brain, outlines emerging quantum technologies that will shape our future as an organic species co-evolving with ever more sophisticated artificial ones that employ quantum effects to achieve astounding levels of computational intelligence. His research at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology is focused on methods to predict financial earthquakes soon enough to sound an early warning.
