he other tests, it would have successfully identified many high-risk patients. In fact, it would have recommended early intervention for eighteen of the twenty-two nodules that went on to be proven cancerous.
I know many have been worry about the development of AI and it's possible negative impact on the human race, but there are definitely some upsides as well!

China just announced plans to become the first country to have a base on the moon!
And they plan to do it by 2030!
Wu Weiren, who's leading China's lunar mission, declared that there was "no question" that, quote, "by 2030, the footprints of the Chinese people will be left on the moon".
This puts the country's schedule ahead of that for the United States. According to previously leaked documents, NASA's moon base construction would start in 2034.
BUT, there HAVE been rumblings that if things go smoothly for upcoming NASA missions, things may be moved up.
Meaning the U.S. and China could be going head-to-head literally ON THE FREAKING MOON!
This is some Hollywood movie stuff right here!

Daily News 2023.4.18---MONTANA COULD BECOME THE FIRST US STATE TO BAN TIKTOK

The state's GOP controlled House of Representatives voted in favor of the bill on Friday, and if the goernor signs it, TikTok would be outlawed in the state as of January of 2024.
The bill was spurred by fears the app's ownership could be collecting Americans' data on behalf of the Chinese government.
Under the law, app stores would no longer be allowed to offer TikTok for download, and would face fines of ten thousand dollars a day if they do!
One thing to note here is that one of the backers of the bill admitted that trying to enforce this ban might be impossible because
blocking downloads of apps in any one individual state isn't feasible.
That aside, is Montana's government going too far, or is the risk from TikTok's Chinese parent company a good enough reason?

So much for CHAT GPT taking over the world.
Italy has just BLOCKED the hugely popular artificial-intelligence chatbot from the country over privacy issues!
The country's data-protection authorities say that OpenAI, the company behind CHAT GPT, collects data it has "no legal basis" to, in order to "train the algorithms that power the platform".
So the regulator has banned the chatbot until, quote, "ChatGPT respects privacy".
The authority also raised concerns over ChatGPT's inability to verify the ages of its users.
That would mean that minors could be exposed to, quote, "absolutely unsuitable answers compared to their degree of development and awareness".
OpenAI was given twenty days to address the regulator's concerns. If it doesn't do so, it could be hit with MILLIONS of dollars in fines.

Hope you’re sitting down for this: America’s life expectancy is the worst of ALL the G7 countries!
In fact, a new ranking which covered two hundred nations saw the U.S. in FIFTY-THIRD place. The next lowest G7 country is the U.K. , which came in at number 36.
There is some GOOD news here though.
It’s not a matter of life expectancy DROPPING. The life expectancy in America is around seventy-seven years, which is up near
ly nine years from the 1950 level! The issue is many other countries are IMPROVING, at a faster rate.
For instance, Japan’s life expectancy in that same period has increased OVER TWENTY-FIVE years, to the point where the average J
apanese citizen can expect to make it to around EIGHTY-FIVE! I don't know about you but I'd like to live well into my nineties so 77 doesn't sound to great.

OpenAI, the company behind ChatGPT, has just released ChatGPT-4. And if you thought the old one was impressive - or scary - you might want to sit down!
OpenAI says it spent six months making the new version safer, more accurate, and much less likely to "respond to questions for disallowed content".
Plus, GPT-4 has more general knowledge and stronger problem-solving skills than its predecessor, as well as better reasoning capabilities.
So GPT-4 is smarter, and scored ALARMINGLY well when given the Uniform Bar Exam - I'm talking top ten percent! And top ONE percent in the Biology Olympiad!
It can even look at a photo of the inside of your fridge, and create a recipe from the ingredients you have!

Nearly 200 countries have agreed to a “high seas treaty” with the aim of protecting marine life.
The treaty will create a new UN body to oversee ocean life conservation and establish marine protected areas.
It’ll also set the ground rules for environmental assessments of commercial activities like deep sea mining and fishing.
The agreement followed a THIRTY-SIX hour final session, TWO WEEKS of full on negotiations and nearly TWO DECADES of work!

th answers that go beyond just links AND helps users refine their searches. And it should be expanded to millions more people by the end of the month!
This also comes as people have been underwhelmed by Google’s new AI chatbot "Bard." Especially after an ad for it showed Bard getting something wrong!
That mistake caused the market value of Google's parent company Alphabet, to drop by about a hundred BILLION dollars.

Daily News 2023.2.3---HIGHLY PROCESSED FOODS ARE LINKED TO INCREASED RISK OF CANCER

Here’s something to process that may be hard to digest: highly processed foods, including soft drinks and most cereals, are both addictive AND linked to an increased risk of cancer!
This is the takeaway from two recent studies.
The University of Michigan National Poll on Healthy Aging asked Americans between the ages of fifty and eighty about their symptoms of addiction to highly processed foods. They found that FORTY-FOUR percent indicated at least one symptom, with the most common being “intense cravings” and “inability to cut down despite a desire to do so.”
And now, a study from Imperial College London has found an association between consumption of these foods and cancer. Specifically, for every ten percent increase of ultra-processed foods in a person’s diet, there was a two percent increase in incidences of cancer!

A new report says America continues to spend more on health care than any other developed country in the world.
The unfortunate part is that it still has the highest rates of death from avoidable or treatable causes!
All told,
the U.S. spends nearly twelve thousand dollars per capita on health care! That’s over forty-five hundred more than the next highest, Germany. It’s also over three times more what Japan and New Zealand spend!
And despite that, America’s rate of avoidable deaths is over 50%, MORE than Germany’s!
As for the root causes, a major one seems to be that Americans see doctors less often than people in other countries.
And the root cause of THAT, is the U.S. is basically the only developed country WITHOUT universal health care.

Daily News 2023.1.26---WOULD CHAT GPT3 BE ABLE TO GET A WHARTON MBA?

A professor at the acclaimed Wharton School has written a paper titled “Would Chat GPT3 Get a Wharton MBA?”, showing what happened when he got the AI chatbot to take “the final exam of a typical MBA core course”, at the school.
While Chat GPT3 struggled with “advanced process analysis” questions and flubbed some basic math, it did an “amazing job at basic operations management and process analysis questions.”
The paper also notes “Chat GPT3 is remarkably good at modifying its answers in response to human hints.” So even when it gets things wrong, it doesn’t take much guidance to get it back on track.
According to the prof, overall, Chat GPT3 would have done better then most students, and would have received a B to B- . So look out, Wall Street!

Party City filed for Chapter Eleven protection as it works on restructuring to slash its debt and free up some much needed cash.

Plus, demand for party supplies has dropped during the pandemic.
Now, the company says it's secured a hundred and fifty million dollars in financing that'll allow it to keep operating while it restructures.

A new report from the US Environmental Protection Agency says that freshwater fish caught in local rivers and streams have DANGEROUSLY high amounts of "forever chemicals".
I'm talking so high that eating just ONE serving exposes people to the equivalent of an ENTIRE MONTH drinking contaminated water!
The EPA recommends that "forever chemicals", like perfluorooctane sulfonate should be limited to zero-point-zero-two parts per TRILLION in drinking water.
But some locally caught freshwater fish like catfish, perch, and bass had more than eight THOUSAND parts per trillion!
On the plus side, most COMMERCIALLY available fish tested at FAR, FAR lower levels.

Gymnast and Tik Tok star Olivia Dunne is SO popular, her university has been forced to hire a BODYGUARD!
20 year old Olivia competes for Louisiana State University, and has over nine and a half million followers on social media, including over six and a half million here on TikTok!
Oh, and she's also drop dead GORGEOUS!
At a recent gymnastics meet in Utah, throngs of teen age boys showed up with posters of Olivia, hollering and chanting for her both outside and INSIDE the arena.
They also surrounded the team bus and gathered in the lobby of their hotel.
It was scary and concerning enough that LSU announced it'd be adding a security detail to the team!
Olivia later posted to Instagram that she, and I quote, "will always appreciate and love the support from you guys, but if you come to a meet, I want to ask you to please be respectful of the other gymnasts and the gymnastics community as we are just doing our job.', end quote.
The sexy gymnast grew her social media following by sharing her life as an NCAA gymnast. She's now the most-followed college athlete on the internet.
She's also super smart, and super talented and when you combine that with her looks, well, it's no wonder she's so popular.

Disney may still be home to the Magic Kingdom, but one high-profile investor is calling them out for their dirty tricks!
Nelson Peltz, who's the billionaire chairman of fast food giant Wendy's as well as Brooklyn Beckams father in law, is angling for a seat on the Disney board.
And in a recent presentation titled “Restore the Magic”, he laid out all the things he thought Disney was doing wrong.
The criticisms were wide-ranging, including how they overpaid for a large chunk of Rupert Murdoch's Fox empire and how their streaming service is losing money, hand over fist.
But his biggest criticism was about how Disney theme parks are squeezing every cent they can from their customers. So much so that he thinks the brands value and long-term health are at risk.”
And he's not wrong. With yearly price increases, from admission tickets to food, per person spending at a Disney theme park has gone up 40% since 2019.
Its estimated that a family of 4, 2 adults and 2 kids, would need to budget anywhere from 65 hundred to ten thousand dollars for a 5 day trip to Disney World.
Peltz says that Disney is in "crisis" and that many of its challenges are self-inflicted.
And for proof, one need only look at the performance of Disney stock over the last year. It's down almost 50% and headed for it's worst year since 1974.
