TEDxPhoenix 2010 Jay Rogers - COOL Cars with Local Motors
Jay Rogers comes to us from Local Motors. A new American car company that makes and designs cars in a co-creation collaborative environment. Local Motors creates cars in their micro-factory here in Phoenix. Local Motors collaborates with their community (8,000 contributors and growing) and future owners to develop innovative cars that you can't find at the dealership.
Local Motors makes it possible to create and modify COOL cars: * Community = the community designs together * Open = all data available to modify * Ownership = you build with us (do-it-yourself nation!) * Local = micro-factories
TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxPhoenix, where x = independently organized TED event. At our TEDxPhoenix event, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.
