Ocean Alive! shares some of the most exciting research taking place in the Northeast Pacific Ocean and Salish Sea—up to 300 kilometres off shore and 3000 metres deep. And it comes to us via the world-leading NEPTUNE and VENUS cabled ocean observatories. The observatories provide continuous data from hundreds of scientific sensors—including seismometers, hydrophones and live-streaming video cameras—on the seafloor, the surface and throughout the water column.
Join host Sarika Cullis-Suzuki, visiting scientist at Ocean Networks Canada, as she shares the latest ocean technology and research that is helping us all to better understand the watery world beneath the surface of the ocean.
