President Park Geun-hye made headlines around the world this year when she said a unification of the two Koreas would be a 'bonanza.' Recently released figures would seem to back that up. If the North and South unify in 2030, a report by South Korea's Ministry of Unification estimates South Korea would need to invest around 27 billion dollars annually over the following decade. In the 10 years that follow, the report estimates the annual financial benefits would surpass 56 billion dollars,... more than double the return. A unified Korea would also mean more employment. The report says more than one million jobs would be created in the process.
