Marion Jansen on Trade and Employment in the Global Crisis
An ILO study on "Trade and Employment in the Global Crisis" was launched at an ILO discussion on "Globalization and Employment: Global Shocks, Structural Change and Policy Response". Marion Jansen, co-ordinator of the ILO's Trade and Employment Programme and co-author of the report, discusses how cross-border trade has acted as a transmission channel of the crisis to export-oriented economies, consequently affecting employment, and the effect of policy responses during the crisis on trade and employment.
