Utilizing Ableton Live software, hardware synthesiz- ers, and a video projector, music technology professors Markus Burger and Steve Nalepa construct a song
from scratch while simultaneously creating live visuals. Powerful new tools are enabling today's artists to achieve new levels of creative freedom both in the studio and in live performance. Armed with a laptop and a video projector, musicians can easily incorporate a visual dimension to their work, while adding a piece of analog hardware helps them further differentiate their sound. Music Technology has always been a catalyst of creativity, and today's tools offer artists more possibilities than ever before.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience.
