Langer presented detailed results of national surveys in two countries of strategic interest: Afghanistan and Yemen. From the latter, a survey of 1,112 Yemenis conducted in December for the Broadcasting Board of Governors, Langer presented results on ratings of living conditions, political attitudes and views of government institutions, drawn together in indices of disaffection and engagement that throw light on the country?s recent unrest.
