Matt Easterday - Assistant Professor, Learning Sciences, Northwestern University - Matt is an assistant professor in the School of Education and Social Policy at Northwestern University. He received his PhD in Human-Computer Interaction at Carnegie Mellon University. Matt's research focuses on technology for the new civics -- producing scientifically supported educational technology to create informed and engaged citizens who can solve serious policy problems such as poverty, global warming, and militarism.


In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
