Many scientists have considered the possibility of bringing animals back from extinction through a process called “de-extinction.” In choosing animals to “de-extinct,” scientists consider certain factors such as their ecological functions and easy access to tissues that could give them quality DNA samples. Though they have already identified a good number of extinct animals that they could bring back to life, the process of bringing them back still has a long way to go as de-extinction entails hundreds of millions of dollars. Here is a list of 25 extinct animals that scientists want to de-extinct:
